The Will of William Collett (Ref. 33L1) of Upper Slaughter

 was made on 1st October 1801

and proved on 5th June 1822

 

 

 

I William Collett of Upper Slaughter in the County of Gloucester, blacksmith being of sound mind memory and understanding do make publish and declarer my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say

 

I give and bequeath to my son William the sum of ten pounds

 

To my sons Joseph, John and Benjamin I give the sum of five pounds to each

 

To my daughter Mary Hall and my son Edward I give one shilling each

 

To my sons Thomas and Richard and my daughter Sarah I give and bequeath all that my messuage and tenement with the blacksmiths shop and garden thereunto belonging situate and being in Upper Slaughter in the County of Gloucester aforesaid (which I hold by lease under the executors or administrators of Mrs Mary Tracy late of Sandywell in the County of Gloucester widow deceased) to hold the said messuage or tenement garden and premises with the appurtenance unto my said sons Thomas and Richard and daughter Sarah their executors administrators and assigns as tenants in common for and during all the rest residue and remainder of a certain form of ninety nine years which I have therein now to come and unexpired provided the lives or life under or by virtue of which I hold the same shall so long happen to continue and all rest and residue of my personal estate goods chattels and effects of what nature or kind soever or wheresoever

 

I give and bequeath unto my said sons Thomas and Richard and daughter Sarah in equal shares and proportions and do hereby nominate and appoint them joint executors and executrix of this my Last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made

 

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this first day of October in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and One
